NRA First Steps – Pistol

NRA First Steps Course:

This 4 hour course will provide the student with a base knowledge on a particular model of firearm. FIRST stands for “Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training”, a program the NRA developed to meet the need for a firearms orientation program for new gun purchasers. All of the fundamentals of shooting as in the NRA Basic Pistol course will be covered, with a particular focus on any firearms the student currently owns or utilizes. This class will involve live firing instruction at the range. Required equipment:  Handgun, holster, 50 rounds ammunition minimum (can be provided for an additional fee)  sturdy belt, full coverage shirt (to prevent brass from going down your shirt, trust me…you want to)

  2. Introduction to Ammunition and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting
  3. Introduction to Pistol Shooting from the Benchrest Position
  4. Introduction to Pistol Cleaning, Storage, and Training Opportunities
